Dr. Jonathan Klonsky completed his General Surgery Residency at The Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, where he also served as Chief Resident. Dr. Klonsky completed Research Fellowship with the Advanced Medical Technologies Institute at Beth Israel Hospital Medical Center in New York. There, he played an integral role in the education and instruction of advanced laparoscopic skills to surgeons throughout the country. He went on to complete Fellowship Training in Advanced Laparoscopic, GI, and Bariatric Surgery at University of South Florida/Tampa General Hospital and then returned home to his native Long Island.
Throughout the years, Dr. Klonsky has performed numerous Bariatric procedures, including Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass, Laparoscopic Gastric Banding, and Laparoscopic Gastric Sleeve. In addition to a special interest in the surgical management of morbid obesity, Dr. Klonsky’s surgical skills also encompass a wide variety of Advanced Laparoscopic procedures including the treatment of Hernias, Gallbladder Disease, Appendicitis, Colon and Small Bowel Disease, and Cancer.
